In the Highlands of Scotland, at the head of Glen Coe, you can find this amazing view of the Etive river with the Buachaille Etive Mòr mountain in the back. The waterfall is fairly small, but it looks beautiful in the morning light. A little bit down the road is the Glen Etive, a beautiful valley with a narrow single track road featuring dozens of waterfalls on both sides. It was also the filming location from the 007 - Skyfall movie. I love how Scots like adding the word "famous" to their landmarks. =)
Riga is the capital of Latvia, one of the three baltic countries in Europe. The city offers a large variety of leisure and cultural activities. For those in a cultural trip, there you will find lots of museums, theaters, historical buildings and constructions from different eras. You can also go through the historical center, which is by the way a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in a segway guided tour, which I strongly recommend. It has a very interesting history, having several historical affiliations during the last eight centuries since its foundation. The city was already an integral part of different empires, kingdoms and nations, such as the Kingdom of Poland, the Swedish, Russian and German Empires, the Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. It has been independent for only 25 years. So, depending on which part of the city you are, you will be prompted to different eras of history. For those looking for sports, the city is surrounded by rivers (it was actually constituted by three islands that were later joined together) so you will be able to practice a variety of water sports, such as kayak of water jet. If you have time, you can go to the Baltic sea and enjoy the beach. It is also possible to visit a shooting range and enjoy other exotic sports that you won’t probably find anywhere else in the world. Last but not least, the city is a party destination in Europe. So, if you’re looking to go partying, in Riga you will find all kinds of nightclubs. What amazed me the most was its beautiful well preserved historical center. Actually, the whole city is well kept just like a Dutch front yard. You need to try hard to find a trash on the street. Congrats to the Latvian people for keeping the city so organized and enabling tourists such a rich experience!
Punta de teno is one of my favorite places in Tenerife. It was a rainy day in the whole island but there. Literally 200 m away from the lighthouse it was pouring down . Beautiful place to swim, dive and enjoy the sunset. We even got a rewarding rainbow in front of the Los Gigantes.
